The Arachnids have had it their way for too long already (yes, it has been a month since their Army Book came out!) and it is time for the Mobile Infantry to match the bug forces with their own Army Book.
This 64 page full colour book is packed with the latest updates on the war against the Arachnids, as well as some hints about what the Skinnies are up to, and there is a glorious painting guide showing you just what the MI are capable of – but you want to know about the new rules and units, right?
There are three Platoon lists in this book, covering Power Suit, Marauder (with the new Bigfoot and Nighthawk suits) and Exosuit platoons. The latter are a new form of tough armoured power suit, laden with weapons and heavy defences, all wrapped up in a machine capable of clearing a building in a simple bound – this is the closest to the ‘novel’ power suits we have yet done! The Exosuit come in two flavours – the tactical Cougar and the mighty Grizzly, with its Atlas Rig and capability of carrying massive weapons into battle.
While the bugs have started to field immense Colony-level forces, the MI can now match them with multiple platoons in Company-level forces, including the all new Captain, a veteran trooper who has a fighting chance of beating a Warrior Bug up close (wouldn’t recommend it though).
There are new Heroic Traits, such as Daredevil, and new psychic talents, such as Block Psychic Talent, while Emplacements have been greatly expanded.
As well as the new Stalwart Bug Field Generators, rules have been provided for building your own SICON fortresses, from the likes of Whiskey Outpost in the movie to immense bastions that may prove impregnable to the Arachnid (yeah, right). Best of all, we have ensured that no special scenarios are required to use these fortifications – in factm, they are tourney legal.
